About

I’m a backend engineer who works on problems where the code itself is the easy part. The real work is the architecture and logic behind it, built to stay reliable under real-world conditions. I’ve built web-scraping systems that keep working as vendor sites change their bot defenses, microservices that place real orders and track real inventory by replicating a real vendor login, using tokens and cookies where there’s no official API to call, and pipelines that move tens of millions of records a day without falling over.

I’ve also spent a good amount of time on the less visible plumbing that makes a product actually work end to end: payment integrations, JWT-based auth, granular permission systems, tamper-evident consent audit trails, and a solid grounding in Linux systems and networking, including secure remote access, VPN setups, and cloud network configuration.

Lilo (now Inn-Flow) Santiago, Chile · Remote

A B2B marketplace aggregating hotel-supply vendors (HD Supply, US Foods, Amazon and more) for price comparison and streamlined procurement across US hospitality businesses. Acquired by Inn-Flow (USA) in May 2026.

  • Built and maintained large-scale web-scraping systems in Python (Scrapy, Patchright, Playwright) to extract vendor data across 20+ vendor sites, using residential proxies and techniques to bypass Cloudflare, Akamai, PerimeterX and other bot/CAPTCHA protections.
  • Built a client-onboarding pipeline, orchestrated with AWS Lambda and Step Functions, that scraped and structured clients’ past purchases, order guides and brand-standard products, onboarding 100+ hotels onto the platform.
  • Developed and deployed (on ECS, with a staging environment) backend microservices in Node.js/TypeScript powering real-time vendor integrations across 8 vendors: placing orders, fetching live pricing and stock, replicating cart state and tracking order status without public APIs, using auth tokens, cookies and custom scraping-based connections.
  • Worked with AWS (Lambda, SQS, Step Functions, ECS, EC2), NATS and MongoDB for backend infrastructure.
  • Leveraged Claude AI, including via the Playwright MCP, to accelerate scraper development and bot-detection bypass techniques, and to build frontend pages for internal tools.
  • Used Sentry for error monitoring; worked across GitHub and GitLab for version control and CI/CD.

Remitz Puerto Rico, USA · Remote

A leading provider of automated revenue recovery services: smarter medical billing and claims collection.

  • Designed and implemented scalable pipelines with PySpark, PostgreSQL, AWS and Python, processing 50M+ claims and remits daily, using OOP principles for modular, reusable code.
  • Deployed Apache Superset in a production-like Minikube (Kubernetes) environment, configuring embedded dashboards and role-based access control (RBAC) to support the move off Tableau.
  • Revamped legacy PySpark transformation logic with class-based designs, achieving 70% faster pipeline runtime on Linux servers.
  • Worked extensively on backend services in Go across multiple projects, and on the PostgreSQL database including staging setup and migrations; contributed to frontend work occasionally.
  • Implemented auth and payments infrastructure, including JWT-based auth, Stripe integration, and a granular capability-style RBAC system for fine-grained endpoint access; also added multi-factor authentication (MFA).
  • Managed and deployed pipelines on a self-administered bare-metal Linux server, handling infrastructure setup and maintenance independently.
  • Managed core AWS infrastructure (ALB, Secrets Manager, Global Accelerator, ECS clusters) and SFTP-based file transfer with a third-party cloud provider; built a staging environment replicating 6+ ECS instances with their own database and Secrets Manager.

Master’s Dissertation

Jan 2024 - Jun 2024 · 6 months

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) New Delhi, India · On-site

Dr. Arnab Bhattacharjee’s Lab, Department of Computational and Integrative Sciences (SCIS): identification of novel biomarkers for Head & Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma using AMPK pathway gene-expression data.

  • Analysed 830 gene-expression patient samples, applying data normalisation and differential-expression techniques.
  • Developed 10-fold cross-validated Cox Proportional Hazard models in Python and scikit-learn, incorporating three regularisation techniques.
  • Validated results through statistical analysis (ROC curves, PCA, correlation heatmaps, network graphs, immune-response analysis), improving model accuracy to 70% and providing insights for cancer prognosis.

Summer Intern

Jun 2023 - Jul 2023 · 2 months

Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore, India · On-site

Dr. Mohit Kumar Jolly’s Lab, Department of Biological Sciences and Bioengineering (BSSE).

  • Collaborated with 2 PhD fellows, completing 2 projects during the internship.
  • Co-authored the resulting paper (doi.org/10.1038/s41540-024-00433-6), showcasing strong documentation skills.
  • Applied multivariate and univariate Cox models and Kaplan-Meier techniques to the patient dataset, uncovering key insights into survival and patient outcomes.
  • Ran statistical tests in Python to surface further insights into survival and patient outcomes.
